A Brexit decision on IT Spend and dynamics in the U.K.

For those who are unfamiliar, there is a scenario in which the United Kingdom could exit from the European Union following the referendum in the U.K. on June 23/1016.

As in other mature economies, IT spend is increasingly fueled by multiple factors including Bigdata, cloud, mobile, analytics and social media technologies.
It is also indispensable to recall that, many organizations are locked into multi-year software licensing agreements and outsourcing deals that would be unlikely to be cancelled or radically restructured in the short term.
According to Andrea Siviero, Senior Research Analyst for the IDC European Industry Solutions team, ‘’financial services, manufacturing, and retail and wholesale would be the industries whose IT spend could be more negatively affected by a Brexit decision."
He also added:"Restructuring the financial single market on one side and the impact on the U.K. current account on the other could potentially lead these three industry sectors to struggle if the U.K. exits from the European Union."
