The introduction of the iPad Pro to the detachable market in U.K.,



From consumer side to enterprise adoption, the mobility shift in U.K., is exciting. 


According to IDC the U.K. became the largest detachable market in Western Europe in the first quarter of 2016.

Data and findings from this firm reveal that the U.K. (With more than 300,000 unit shipments) overtook Germany, which as expected had ended 2015 as the leading country for this form factor.

Microsoft's Surface Pro line leads the momentum within the enterprises; while the introduction of the iPad Pro provided an additional boost to the detachable market and extended the customer base, with Apple reaching 21% market share.

One can also observe that, Phablets continue to lure customers in the U.K., with sales increasing 35.4% year on year in 2016Q1 to 1.6 million units.

Apple and Samsung together account for more than half the total SCD market in the U.K.

HP Inc. improved its market share (in the convertible and detachable market); Lenovo, in fourth place, continues to see growth in the consumer space. Closing the top 5, LG benefits from triple-digit annual growth in the market for regular smartphones.
