IoT Adoption and Emerging Technologies Driving Technology Industry in the U.S.



It is henceforth clear that, technology is constantly and continuously reinventing itself in our ever-connected world where the programmed-obsolescence is a business and commercial strategy.  


The U.S. consumer technology industry is one of the most exciting that offers a myriad of products and services. Steadily, emerging technologies including virtual reality, voice-controlled digital assistants, wearables, smart home devices, and drones, to name a few are pushing the entire industry forward.

According to the Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA)™ semi-annual forecast, broader adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) and enthusiasm for emerging technology will drive the U.S. consumer technology industry to $286.6 billion in retail revenues ($224 billion wholesale) in 2016.

Five largest categories of the tech industry, including smartphones, tablets, LCD televisions, laptops and desktop computers, are expected to collectively contribute $114 billion or 51 percent, to the tech industry’s revenue this year.
