Pending the maturation of the streamlined tailored services, the IT spending in the Malaysian healthcare industry is on exciting curve. A curve feeds by the favorable government legislation and policies; rapid urbanization; the aging population; continued investments into public health and the growing number of private hospitals.

International Data
Corporation ( IDC ) Health Insights , the healthcare IT spending in Malaysia is expected to
reach US$126 million in 2019, growing with a compound annual growth rate of
5.8% from 2012 to 2019.
Once can also observe that,
spending on the hardware segment is the highest with services and software
spending ranked second and third places.
The country is currently focusing
on upgrading existing infrastructure and implementing emerging technologies
like cloud, big data analytics, mobility; social and others.
The research also highlights
that the rising demand for ease-of-access to care delivery, transparency in
billing procedures and mobility solutions for physicians are also factors that
will shape the future of IT spending in Malaysia.
